Cable Tv cross-question? I have an issue near my cable TV at

I have an issue near my cable TV at my apartment. None of my outlets are working. This morning, I noticed that I have no signal on my DVR. I reset the unit, and the time wouldn't display on the box. I enjoy Comcast by the way.

Anyways, I go into my other bedroom where I merely have a cable running directly into my SDTV. I turned on the TV and near was no signal going to that one any.

I called Comcast, and they said I hold to wait FIVE DAYS since a technician could come out to the apartment and take a look at it. F-----g detestation Comcast.

Anyways, I obviously hold an issue with the internal electrics if both outlets are not getting a signal. But why would this all of a sudden arise?

I know where the cable roundabout box is at the apartment. Is it possible that something went wrong contained by there? If so, what? I can't assume that both outlets would go late at the same time. The individual thing I see contained by common is the fork box. Any ideas?

Yes it is possible. You are not alone in hate comcast. Most people who hold it do but are stuck with it because their town made the agreement to bring them within.

Tip, if you could talk 4 or 5 of your nehibors to bid in and reporting they enjoy no picture, they will assume it is an outage and have to fly on it today! There are a couple of possibilities...range from it getting disconnected at the distribution box for your complex..or maybe your complex lost service and there's a problem.

Generally the T-junction boxes are locked, so you can't access them, if you could it'd be easy to steal service.

It's unyielding to tell. If the cable is connected, after it's possible it's gone bad. As a satellite install technicaian, i've see cases were cable will be without fault fine one day, later a week or so later newly fail completely. Apartment electric wiring is a pretty complex thing..so it's frozen to tell exactly WHERE your problem is.

Find out if your neighbors enjoy cable..if they do and you don't...then run look for signs of tampering a the roundabout box..someone may have broken contained by and started screwing around near it.
If the problem exists on both outlets it is likely due to trash outside of the wiring for which you are responsible (responsibility vary with specific service contracts and specific cable companies). Most promising the service is out for all the associates in your apartment unless someone tamper with your cable and run it to their apartment. There is an amplifier located outside or inside your building which has gone bleak. So you have no signal. Not solely can you not be sure where this amplifier is you cannot fix it in need replacing it. And it could cost anywhere from $100 to $300 or more. The best thing for you to do is bring back a set of amplfied rabbit ears for about $50 and scrutinize whatever TV you can keep watch on in the meantime. Or call round a friend or family extremity who has working cable for those major shows or sports events.

Most of the time amplifiers go discouraging for two reasons: (1) Age - lately time to wear out or (2) Power surges - Lightning or other power surge damages the amp and it is gone.

If it is not the amplifier then a cable is cut somewhere or lightning burned a branch of cable out.
Ask landlord, and ask others if they live in attendance if their cable is out, also ask Comcast for a credit refund for 5 days worth of no service, and our cable can reset things at their organization while they are talking to us on the phone, I'd give the name them again and bug them, tell them your kids enjoy no enternainment or you don't. They might charge you, or it might be free service tech. sometimes they have separate maintan. agreements, say-so Hey I'm paying you all honourable money, unless it's part of rent and tenant pays, talk to hotelier first, and other tenants, later if they also have a problem make clear to them everybody is out of cable. Try resetting cable box, unplugging plugging back surrounded by. ?
